COMMUNICATION AND CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT UNIT Dept. of PHE, I&FC, organized two days training programme for the Engineers of PHE dept. on the topic of Concept of Change Management in Rural Water supply and Sanitation in India. The training is organized in association with the expert faculty of Engineer Staff College of India Hyderabad (ESCI).
The need for the training of Technocrat’s on this topic is become essential for implementation of National Rural Drinking Water programme which has established as fact for the development of the rural INDIA. Training programme covers implementation of change, role of habit, perception, conditioning of mind, attitudinal change and activities on approaches to change. In simpler terms Technological and developmental programmes represent planned socio-cultural changes. It recognizes the psychological dimensions that always underline change processes. As technical specialists have to help specific group of people to change some of their behaviours and to modify their social cultural systems. Implementation of technical and developmental schemes to fulfil the basic needs of water and sanitation means reaching the goal. This is known as change i.e change in society.
The training programme was inaugurated by Er. H.C Jerath Chief Engineer, Irrigation and Flood Control Jammu in presence of Dr Narinder Bhatial Executive Director CCDU, Er. G.D Ohja, Director ESCI, Er Mohinder Singh Sectary Institute of Engineers and Sh. A.P Natarajan Prof. of Management. Others present on the occasion were Ms Anuradha and Smt Y.S. Lakshmi faculty from ESCI, Miss Iqra Shafi HRD Consultant, Sh. Shahnawaz Dar IEC Consultant, Sh. Naginder Challu Accounts Officer and other Staff of CCDU along with thirty PHE engineers.
